Pasadena, California 91104
The Washington Square Landmark District is nestled beneath the San Gabriel Mountains in Pasadena, California. Our historic district encompasses approximately 250 homes built mainly between 1910 and 1940. Architectural styles range from California Craftsman, Spanish Colonial, Tudor, English Cottage to Traditional. Our streets are lined with old-growth Camphor, California Oak and Palm trees which not only add beauty to our neighborhood but help keep our homes cool in the warm California summers. Neighbors also enjoy the 5.22 acre Washington Park which is planted by residents with native California plants and trees. The park includes areas for picnics, tennis, basketball, handball, baseball, parking and a playground.
In 2003, Washington Square was established as a historic Pasadena resource making our homes eligible for property tax credits and protection from over-development. The Washington Square Neighborhood Association, which operates this web site, works with all the departments of the City of Pasadena to develop and maintain our quality of life. E:mail alerts and monthly meeting flyers keep the community informed about any concerns and provide a neighborly welcome to newcomers.
So, welcome! With the menu to the right, you can explore our streets, view community events, and learn about the benefits of living in a landmark district.
